Another great knife from TOPS to add to many others I own from this great company. Dawn Warrior feels light yet very strong and the design on this one allows for both bushcraft type work as well as choking up to the choil just below the blade for fine work with gimping in the right spot on the spine to use this forward choil better. Really like this design. Only issue I had was the grind on mine out of the package was an absolute razor to the point of making the edge a bit brittle, but this is really no big deal as you are going to have to sharpen it again sooner or later. If you have big hands like I do, you may want to file away the edge a bit near that finger choil just next to the blade as it is a razor right up to that choil out of the package. I beveled the blade away from that choil just a bit before resharpening and stropping it and this is definitely a knife that will see a lot of use. Took it out and tried it out on the typical tasks I use my knives for and this design was made by someone who spends time really using their knife for a variety of tasks and it shows in this knife. Highly recommend.Follow up: After carrying mine a bit, I decided to do a couple mods to fit my preferences...1. Not a fan of the textured coating on the blade, as I use my knives for field dressing and bushcraft both and the coating gets gummed up with blood and hair/fur and also compound from when I strop them when I resharpen them. So I stripped mine off on the blade portion and gave it a patina, but I leave the coatings on under the scales as it does really serve a good purpose in that area. To each his own...2. The kydex sheath needed a bit of a raised spot for your thumb to hit for pulling the knife out, so I heated up that spot and used the shank on a #2 phillips to pull outward on it.Love the design of this knife. Does it all.The pics are not of the knife as it comes, it is the mods I did to personalize it.Follow up - after a good bit of use, I find that I needed to drill an extra in the kydex sheath about a half inch up from the top screw in the sheath to keep the knife secured. Easy fix, and I think it's just a product of the squared off edges between the finger choil and handle scraping and making the fit a bit looser over time. No biggie though. The other benefit of the top screw in this spot is you can easily adjust the tension of the knife in the sheath by how tight you have the screw.
